Shakespeare once said that parting is sweet sorrow. The only reason why I imagine he could suggest the sweetness is that sweet stuff can give you headaches and make you sick.

When I first met a mentor very precious to me, she said to me that I write like an angel. I never forget a compliment like that, from someone whose intelligence strikes awe into my inky heart.
Today, I thought about that; it was two years ago. Then, something surfaced in my mind: a Nightwish song called Angels Fall First.
And I cried.

Everyday my dream seems further away...

Why does your dream seem further away my friend?

can't you tell, the song made her feel down because it relates to her failing...
BUT SHE WON'T everyone believes in you especially on this site!!! YOU CAN DOOOO IT your dreams don't have to be further away just because you lose something special to you. Don't forget what you lose you lose but what you write stays with you forever and my friend I'm sure everyone here can agree with me if they read this that you have written some pretty awesome things!

Because I am losing a dear mentor...!! She believed in my writing; she told me I was talented when I needed to hear it :(
I'll miss her so much!!!

I know.... there's just been a lot of things at the moment that seem to be sending me a message that I will never be a fulltime writer. That's why I wrote that other journal entry a little while ago too!!

Like I said to him... I am losing a dear mentor. She told me I was talented. She is massively intelligent and seemed to respect as I her and helped me in ways that only someone with experiences like hers could.
Irreplaceable!

-Comfort. I see. It must be really hard :( but I'd think that she'd still want you to remember what she said before and use that as a reminder that you are indeed talented. Though she may not be there to tell it to you again and again, i'd think she'd still want you to believe in yourself and what she said prior.

I know its hard to imagine yourself ever becoming a full time writer. I go through that alot too. You know, sometimes i sit down and think about it. While i'm sitting on the edge of my bed, people my age are out there acting, singing, representing their countries at the olympics and other awesome things. And the ability of me to do somethiing great like that seems so far out of reach. But I know that writing is what i was meant to do and despite all the forces acting against me, i still try to keep the dream afloat in hope that it will come true. So, you have to keep at it my friend. You cannot let it fizzle away. No one is going to become a writer if they do not write actively with a passion for it. I believe that you do. And you really are talented, so despite the signs and trials that put your ambition in jeopardy, hold fast to what you really believe in. You will be up there one day if you keep at it. My mentor once told me that the only people that catch their dreams are the ones who chase them. So keep on running till you feel it is in the palm of your hand. If I can do it, you can do it tenfold (:
